Walk for Freedom 2024: Reflecting on the Past, Confronting Modern-Day Slavery

My Freedomwalk …..There are millions of slaves in the whole world

During the Walk for Freedom, the silence and exhaustion reminded me of my visit to a slavery museum, where I saw the chains that once bound millions. Today, those chains persist in new forms—both physical and digital.

Modern Slavery Still Exists
From child labor in the fashion and electronics industries to the exploitation of workers in unsafe conditions, millions of people, including children, are trapped in forced labor. Fashion houses and tech companies often overlook unethical practices in their supply chains, making this hidden suffering part of our everyday lives.

Digital Slavery
In the digital realm, ransomware attacks enslave companies by holding their data hostage, crippling operations until a ransom is paid. Technology, once a force for good, is now weaponized to control, exploit, and oppress—whether through cyberattacks or by tracking and surveilling populations.

The Fight Continues
Modern slavery, whether through human trafficking, child labor, or digital exploitation, must be fought on all fronts. I stand committed to this mission and urge others to join in. Together, we can fight for freedom and ensure no one is bound by the chains of the past or the digital world.
